ok kids.... i posted in the other thread before i saw this one but here it goes.
First off, there is no "sarge" in the Marines. Its an army thing.
Sgt is sergeant
SSgt (what I am) is Staff Sergeant
then GySgt- "Gunny" or Gunnery Sergeant
then either MSgt (Master Sergenat) or 1Sgt (First Sergeant)
then depending on previous rank, MGySgt (Master Gunnery Sergeant) or SgtMaj (Sergeant Major)
