What you need?

My tips:

For a good, no thrills, striaght forward learning C++ book, get Essential C++ by Stanley B Lippman.

For the worlds greatest C++ reference book, get C++ in Plain English by Brian Overland.

Both come in paperback. C++ in Plain English says its $19.99 US/$29.99CAN. Essential C++ says its $33.95US/$50.95CAN.
