Posted - 04/03/2004 : 18:46:11 I reformatted my hardrive recently. Of course I lost all my skins and stuff and I'm installing different types of eye candy stuff. I DLed an IFF thing, reticles, and sniper rifle beam. Trouble is, I can't seem to find the right folder to put them in. They are all vl2's and I tried putting them in just about every place, but apparently I missed one. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Posted - 04/05/2004 : 14:34:53 I've looked all over the place, and I can't find it. I found the site I got it off of, but now I need a password to DL it, so it would be very helpful.

Posted - 04/04/2004 : 23:26:35 You guessed it, another problem. I have four skins. All four of them vl2 files, all four of them in the same place. One works, the rest don't. I've tried renaming, reDLing, moving, nothing seems to work. I don't understand why one set works, yet the rest don't. They seem to be legitimate. Any ideas?

Posted - 04/03/2004 : 20:29:59 might try opening up the vl2s to make sure they have the paths in
if it has paths, cant think of a reason why it wouldnt work in the base folder
if it doesnt have any paths, gonna have to do some manual extracting (open the vl2 and textures.vl2 match the location of the new file[s] that your extracting with the paths for the existing files)

Posted - 04/03/2004 : 19:10:56 I tried putting them into my base folder as you suggested beforehand, but to no avail.

Posted - 04/03/2004 : 18:57:55 They should work if you put them in the Tribes2\Gamedata\Base folder.
If that doesn't work, you might try renaming them from
script.vl2 to zscript.vl2
So they are loaded after the base skins. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I have heard people suggest this before.
Edit: Oh, and sometimes they need to go into tribes2/gamedata/base/scripts/autoexec in order to work. But that doesn't usually happen.
