thats what im trying to do. im not gonna overclock. i dont think soyo is gonna cut it either. after reading for hours on end and looking at diff motherboards and vid cards for who knows how long... ive finally realised what i need. i found the vid card im gonna get a gf4 ti4800se which seems to be the best bang for the buck. the motherboard im still looking for. im looking for a 333fsb ddr400 8xAGP (v3.0, NOT v1.5) and cant seem to find all that packed into one within my price range... oh well. i dont care if its nforce2 or the other one (cant remember what its called been looking too long)

/me is anti-overclocking...

Sure it's high performance for pennies, but if you average out how much you pay when you smoke several processors it's better to just invest the money and do it right from square one.

I say get one of the nforce2 boards. Some may not technically support a 400Mhz bus, but they have a locked pci divisor which allows you to overclock the bus to 400Mhz+.

Personally, I'd select an nforce2 board that did not have onboard video and did have onboard RAID. I would pair that up with one of the athlon xp 1700+ thoroughbred B's and some pc3500 RAM. I would be able to overclock the 1700+ to somewhere between 2Ghz and 2.5Ghz (up to 3600+ speeds).
