not true. On a standard vpad in base, 1 is wildcat, 2 is beowulf, 3 is MPB, so on and so forth.

If you only have shrike-bomber-havoc, then 1 is shrike, 2 is thundersword, etc etc.

the keys do change in base. Also, mousemod could be altered to include alterable MPB turret barrels with a minimum of effort.

Not sure if anyone even remembers his work but Ill's version of Mousemod acctually fixed the problem of the insane boost speed, so the Classic orientated Mousemod became alot funner then the Base Mousemod in my opinion, overall the game would be more fast-paced and thrilling for the offence with Classic MM then the Base MM, and it would pose a little more of a challenge for the D players and s all forms of snipers. If anyone still has his latest version (I only have an old version were the boosts weren't in yet)I would love to see it on Fragfest or the CPA for one day.

Classic is better then base.

And Will's mod has neato things like sticky mines.

Will's mod is pretty much what I ma sure MM would be if Mouse had more time to fix it.

IMHO I don't think people on D need more of a challenge. The base raping is already out of hand. And I don't think the cloakers need the advantage of not even shimmering in classic. The sticky mines would be cool to help the people on D along with the changeable MPB turrets.

Defense has the most usefull tool in Classic, the Mine-Disk, say VGB to big time Rapers with that, 2 MD's take out the Shield and do about 15-20% damage, third Mine kills. Also use Mines in combination with Plasma or Grenade Launcher for a devasting One-Two blow that is suited for the underground combat of Minotaur. It'll be a lot more interesting with Classic. Watch some T2TV (Like My Match *Zoo Vs. Blackout*) and you can see how usefull a Mine can be, I'll be abusing them to the max as LD.

Yeah, mines are good.
Don't forget the mine-mortar for HO. It seems like overkill, but sometimes you need that extra damage. IE, killing MPB, killing an HoF/HoG, killing a gen, etc.

Mouse and I just talked about increasing the damage radius on the mines at lunch.

Another one talked about was the plasma rounds sticking to the wall for a period of time and inflicting damage on players that went past them...

How aboout just making the plasma gun that shoot a little faster, A rapid fire plasma gun with a bigger clipped.

How about increasing the strength of a satchel charge or increasing the range of explosion. EXAMPLE: A nuke like explosion and the range that goes with it.

How about a larger Bomber Bay. One that can charge and hold 12 - 20 bombs rather than the eight on a single drop?

OH GOD. "Arnie Rimmer" already got like 1700 points for about 45 minutes of bombing just a few days ago. Imagine 4 more bombs per run.. that's potentially 8 more kills, maybe even more.

The damage per second would just have to be lower.

That would lag like a mutha. Imagine how many shots the average =WiN player fires when they go on a raping spree. They just ***** the plas until they die or they run out of ammo.

Now, imagine all those shots staying around in the game world for a while, burning, and actively checking for players to trigger the damage script. Now Imagine 24 n00bs running around in spawn armor looking for a rep pack.

This looks like a job for...... LAG MAN!

Yeah I heard about those runs the other night...

I was saying the sticky plasma would be awesome anywhere they have to godown a tube... fall through napalm is a good analogy.

I'm all for a few more bombs.

We're thinking about adding the Jazz shrike from KoV mod. A shrike with a chaingun, dumb fire missiles and bombs (2-3 on full energy drop). hehehe

IMO I think you should edit the Jaz shrike and lose the bombs... I think it would detract from the general ethos of having a good bomber crew. It's sort of a team effort. And teamplay, we all agree, is what differentiates the winners from the losers. I mean, with the Jazz, why not just delete the bomber entirely?

You know what WOULD be cool (To me)? To modify the bomber code to add a 6th weapon to the tailgunner's inventory. This weapon would be a repairgun. That way, you could have a tg with an ammo pack, giving them 18 flares, but they could also repair while in the air, because being in the 3rd position temporarily adds a repairgun to your weapons.

No more going back to base for repairs.

I have always wanted a shrike to have dumfire missiles. I played a non-mainstream mod onetime that ahd it and I loved it.
Adding a chaingun would make it deadly. I'd come and play it every day.

I like all the ideas, they all sound kinda fun. The only thing I hate about MM though is shielder/rapers. Yes when in base shielders arent too bad to kill (respawn with blaster). But its hard to conciously put a blaster in my loadout because laser/disk/grenades do no damage to good shielder unless you can get a 2 on 1 going. You can register headshots with laser against a shielder and it does no damage so all I get are extra pts.

Conc grenades have helped me get even but, should shields be able to take 15 disk shots with the person taking no damage?

There's a function available that after x amount of time in an enemy base the camper takes damage (like being OOB normally does).

I'm thinking about enabling that on FragFest... Somehow I don't think Mouse would go for that on CPA. I don't mind base rape, but camping just pisses me off.
