For about 2 weeks now my computer has been lagging while playing Tribes 2. I cleaned my computer of spyware and all that and tried again. No luck. Did a virus scan had a trojan and then deleted it. I thought that should do it but no luck still getting huge lag spikes of 9000+. Called my Tech Support to see if something was wrong with my modem. It checked out fine . So I thought maybe my game will be working(don't know why but I did) and yet still no luck. So I thought to myself, "I had DT downloaded could it be causing the lag by scanning the other players around me?" Sounded logical becuase it had to be the only thing becuase my internet was fine and single player worked fine with no lag spikes. So I just went a head and deleleted the whole folder and intalled. But still I am getting lag spikes while in the game. What could be causing so much lag?? I am not having packet loss so don't think that. I told you what wasn't wrong now tell me what you could think is.
Do you have an nvidia video card and have you recently updated your video drivers? I've heard people complaining about the latest detonator drivers causing horrendous lag.
Go to trend.com and do another virus scan. Major Antivirus Programs only clean files they recognize as a virus. Some of the virus programmers write code to pass certain know type of loop holes or exploit other types of antiviral weaknesses.

Found out something. When I get these huge lag spikes the cause seems to be it's not sending or recieving. All I know is the grey and blue lines go down to zero.
Grey being sending bytes and blue recieving bytes.
I have DT installed and I experience the following problems (probably not related to DT though):
Cant see beacons Cant record demos Cant take screenshots (well, can take them, they show up as white) Cant see IFFs all the time Cant kill anyone (I think that one is my fault) I do on occasion experience some lag and crappy ping...
hmph...
I may as well uninstall DT if mousemod isnt going to support it.
I don't understand why it randomly does it and does it more often when more people are in the game. It also happens outside of tribes but not as often.
If you have broadband and use a router, your router could be freaking out. I had a router that would do that. It runs fine for a few hours then starts to make me ping 1000+. Unplugging and replugging the router would temporarily solve the problem. Returning the router permanantly solved the problem.
