My computer seems to be running really slow lately. I've installed Ad-Aware 6.0 and ran many times, computer is clean of that hidden-ad ****. I've done a full Virus Scan, i'm clean. I'm defrag'd both C and D drives, but my computer still feels slow. I haven't even used 35-40% of the hard drive yet, so its not lacking that.

Also, everytime I try to change my wallpaper, it never works. It shows while windows loads, then disappears and stays grey.

Help. ;\

use another antivirus program like http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
then if that passes, reseat your memory.
if you are using ME then upgrade to XP, that will solve the problem.

Win98? Yeah, there's your problem. That's the one virus that the trendmicro housecall doesn't detect. Better delete the virus with a WinXP cd.

not reset. reseat. You know, like the way you got your nintendo games to work. pull the ram out, blow on the slot, then jam it nice and good in there to ensure the connection is good.

can't say that I've ever seen people get anything other than a busted computer with memory that isn't inserted properly though.
