my cpu fan, when i start up the computer, makes a weird whirring noise for a minute or two then it stops. i figure i should get a new one before this one dies. im running an athlon XP 2600+, any reccomendations on fans/heatsinks? ill probably go with just one of the cheaper cooler masters, but if you have any experience, please share.

let me clarify on the price range. i dont wanna spend too much. im think under $20, what would be a good choice. i wanna get that cooler master that looks like a jet engine, but that like $50, not worth it in my opinion. so a decent one under $20, or at that price will most any that has the qualifications do

look for a stock one. the adjustable speeds are only for people who need to oc. You aren't going to be adjusting it 24/7 (cause that is annoying). so just get a normal one.
note: if you want one of the best ones (for ocing), the very nice thermal take ones go for about 25. but i doubt you want that.
