How can I get me a board like this?
Also, I need to contact Soilent about possible webspace for a website and hosting a board that will most likely get the same if not a bit mor trafic than this one. (so if you see this, www.sgwebspace.com doesnt work...)

http://forum.snitz.com/

Soilent has one that already works on his system.

I believe he is down for maintenance right now.

eh? You don't _need_ SQL for Snitz, it's an option.

Cobalt,

I just moved so that's why my site was down... in fact my ISP's horrible DNS management still keeps it down for another day or two. However, your site is up and you still have access to it.

However, my server doesn't currently support .asp scripts so this message board won't work. But, I do support PHP, MySQL, Perl/CGI and with those you can find a whole bunch of free message boards: InvisionBoard (which I use and recommend), Ikonboard (also a good one but a little bloated in the management area), YaBB, and phpBB are the ones I know of and there's probably a few more.

http://cobalt.ods.org is up.

Thanks man...
I was wondering if I could eliminate the cobalt.ods.org site and change it to BFS.ods.org, or something similar, its for an Ultima Onlin SPHERE server that I was pretty involved with, I was a GM on it for about a year and a half.

Ill look into other mssg boards, this one seems like the best I have ever seen, ill try to find others like it.

this seems like a good one but when it gets busy you get the Jet error. Don't know if that's server or software related. My guess is it's related to the software.

Actually, it's a limitation of Access.

Access uses page-level locking, so if it's busy then you can't add a new record because the bottom of the database is locked. Easily solved via moving to SQL server, but we don't feel like doing that right now. <G>

interesting... thanks for the info. i've never used access... just mysql and never had that problem.

I did get .asp working on my test server (Linux) but the snitz forums uses ' as a comment which my version no likey. Unless there's a special perl module that I need to add to my server but I have no clue about which one.
