For medicinal use only yes...
Just so people can get high... No.
We've got enough people driving drunk, stoned, etc.. already. we don't need anymore.

If you do that, then I say.... Any and all heath care providers should not pay for any illness that is smoking related.
If you're gonna make it legal for people to smoke yet another harmful product, then DO NOT raise my insurance premiums to pay for their stupidity.

My oversight...Make the companies that make the products pay for all health problems...this would make the price rise...and eventually it would be expensive enough to were you would either have to steal it, be crazy, or be rich.

I feel that if regulated properly, like alcohol is supposed to be, it could be safe. That said, I do not see any real benefit. But hey, alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous drugs and they're perfectly legal. If people want to do it, fine, but don't make me pay for their stupidity.

You think smoking a cigarette is more harmful than smoking a joint?

How many deaths from marijuana have there been in the past decade? And how many from tobacco related illnesses? The most dangerous attribute of marijuana is its legal status. That said, I'm in no way promoting it. I choose not to use it, but I still think these things should be kept in perspective.

"In 12,000 years no person has ever died from the use of Marijuana. 400,000 people die from cigarettes every year - 125,000 from alcohol. Over 1,000,000 American citizens were arrested last year on drug charges - 80% for simple marijuana possession. Taxpayers spend an average of $27,000/per year for the incarceration of one inmate."

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that most people who smoke pot also smoke cigarettes.
Can't say I've even met anyone that smokes just pot, and not cigarettes too.

Meh, I wouldn't make that broad of a generilization. However, I agree that drugs, legal or not, aren't the brightest move. The only reason I support legalization of certain less harmful drugs is that it's the illegal drug culture that seems the most dangerous. That, and I'm for a less-invasive government. But let's not move into politics...

Well, I don't know about you southern folk, but up here in Canada I could see the government legalizing it simply for the sake of being allowed to apply the 15% tax to it. Can anyone guess how much money that would bring in in one year?
And so it has been revealed, in accordance with the prophecies. |

I live in Humblodt County California. We're a damn feature in High Times magazine. Here are some *things* concerning pot. 1. How many guys have come home stoned and beat up their wives? 2. Who cares if your in a smoking-pot and driving accident? You're gonna be going 4 miles per hour. 3. Phillip Morris ALREADY has a patent on marijuana ciggarettes. Already. It's done. They have it. It'll be a cash crop. 4. Are you more comfortable with your kid taking up smoking pot, or tobbacco? 5. I have never personally seen anyone better off for having smoked pot. I have never personally seen anyone better off for having smoked tobbaco. 6. I did read somewhere that pot is LESS addictive than alcohol and tobacco. Don't know that one for sure, but seems about right to me.
