Michael L. Perlman provides the leadership and vision that makes SLSF a forward-thinking, caring, service-oriented firm.  His steady hand at the helm keeps the firm running smoothly, enabling the SLSF team of trusted advisors to focus on delivering to clients a range of capabilities and technical expertise rarely found in a small firm setting.

Michael joined SLSF in 1981 and became partner six years later. His passion and dedication to achieving the highest level of client service have led to many years in leadership roles. In 1992 Michael was named to the firm’s executive committee, and he served as acting managing partner for two years before officially accepting the position in 2003.

Over the past 31 years, Michael has provided tax, accounting and consulting services to closely held businesses and their owners, specializing in helping clients design their accounting systems and the related processes and procedures.  His background includes extensive experience in the hospitality industry, where he advises leading Chicago-area restaurateurs on the development of business plans, operational practices and financial reporting standards.

As a licensed insurance producer and a registered investment advisor affiliated with the national financial planning firm Lincoln Financial Advisors, Michael also guides individuals on their personal financial plans and helps them understand their investment and insurance portfolios.
