The people associated with CPA are genuine and for the most part respectful, UNLESS you insult them like Krusty said. CPA for some has gone past the part of being a server hosted game, and has become a hang out for newly found friends to associate with one another in a clean, safe, fun environment that can be controlled by a simple gong.

The mod is unballanced whether you say so or not! But that is what you boys <and girls> like about it then so be it. Like I said, I'm not knocking the mod. I know he is going to read this, but I love how he claims not to be knocking the mod, before proceeding to knock the mod for like 10 more lines. Its people like this that give people like me things to do.

I agree, many games are one sided. Then a bunch of n00bs quit and more regulars log in to the other team and it balances out again.
Overall, I think it is a pretty good balance, however, sniper rifle should penetrate shields more (personal plea). Its hard to wait for a dumb shielder to go jumping through the air or getting hit by a disk before I can inflict damage. Probably cant change them without changing how powerful they are though so its kinda mut.
I bet hes reading it to.

Why? It's an energy weapon against an energy based shielding system.
They need to cancel each other out at some point.

I think we shoudl tone down the sniper rifle. So many people are using it and cheating with it that while im boosting, someone gets a headshot on me and drains all my shields. Not enough to kill me so i dont know who shot me. Heck with it, ban the sniper rifle altogether.

Ditto. If teh laseh has is damage decreased I will quit CPA in a flash, and then go play... stuff.
Also, Tbok, "Balance" with one L is spelled correctly. Two Ls is just plain wrong. <edit> Ignore this... I'm dumb and can't read </edit>
And lastly, "Guest", kindly STFD&STFU. We all know by now that you tried out the mod recently and got pwned by the other team because you're new and you don't know how to counter the new strategies that have evolved from base/classic with the new weapons/packs. The one team was dominating because of 2, possibly 3 factors:
1) Presence of one or more superior players. Some of the =WiN and |E| guys are pretty good at shielding, while others such as myself and atri tend to play with the rifle.
2) A greater degree of teamwork. Players that are dedicated to one task, such as base defense, heavy offense, sniping, capping, flag chasing, etc. benefit their team much more than some n00b who gets into the tailgunner seat of a bomber wearing spawn armor with no pack.
3) This one is a reach, but there might have been one or more players that took on a Team Leader(s) role, assigning tasks and keeping the actions of the team co-ordinated.
I know you're gonna read this, Guest, and I know that you know I'm right, but you can't back down because you stuck your neck out way too far to retreat gracefully, so just don't reply with more flaming, and then we regulars who know the mod far better than you will interpret your lack of a response as agreement with the opinions expressed in this post and in the others posted by my fellow regulars.

I'm all for change, and I think so is Atri, but not when it comes to the rifle. Mouse can feel free to add one-shot head kills on heavies and shielded lights, too, if he wants. ;)

nah i just use my handy-dandy lance on the juggies and double sniping shielders works well. headshot snipe then either sl or spin. use grenades too. repeat until dead.

I think we should keep CPA the way it has been for the last 3 years.
Change the rifle, and say goodbye to the snipers (around 20 peeps). Change the shield, and the same thing happens. As soon as soccer season is over, I'll say the same thing as Ah-nold will say when he loses the election, "I'll be back".

I agree with Pisn about the blaster though. But I heard it best the other night. "Blaster is a poor mans sniper rifle"
