I will now post a message to a message board in hopes of feeling like it allows me to take a nice long break.

Sunday evening: worked on a hisotry paper and slept 6 hours
Monday evening: worked on history paper and slept 2 hours (7a-9a)
Tuesday afternoon: worked on a compilers assignment and slept 1 hour (4p-5p)
Tuesday evening: worked on compilers assignment and slept 5 hours (6a-11a)
Wednesday evening: worked on compilers and AI and slept 2 hours (9a-11a)

It is now Thursday afternoon. History paper was turned in on Tuesday. Compilers assignment is due in 11 hours and there is still several hours worth of work to be done. AI assignment is due in 25 hours and there is still a good full day + all nighter worth of work to do.

I'm just glad I have such a special friend. His name is caffiene.

Hours of sleep since Monday morning at 9am: 10
Hours of awake since Monday morning at 9am: 65

predicted additional sleep until Friday at 2pm: 3 hours
predicted additional awake until Friday at 2pm: 23 hours

Ok, I'm off to do more homework. After those calculations, I'm not doing all that bad on sleep. The average sleep to awake ratio is 1/3. I'm currently at 1/6.5 which ain't too horrible.

And on a side note, i just realized that my main cooling fan on my computer has been off all night because I accidently flipped the switch on my fanbus to the OFF position.

So now I know that, as long as my water pump continues to run, my computer can go all night long without having an actively cooled radiator. When I turned on the fan, the blowhole on my computer felt like a heater vent.

new total:

hours awake: 87
hours asleep: 13

I'm planning on going to sleep at 8 so my sleeping schedule is somewhat normal so that will put me at 93 hours awake, 13 hours asleep. So that puts me at 3.625 hours per night for 4.17 days straight.

And I'm still up trying to decide wtf to do about this AI class. The prof is giving us assignments that are far too in depth to be able to complete in the time he allocates. This most recent assignment took approximately 100 man-hours to complete (50 hours per person).

Our next assignment will input the text from the story The Tale of Peter Rabbit and we have to have a program that will answer a users questions such as:

Did Peter have bread for supper?
Who is naughty?
What did Peter do after eating French beans?

I'm so screwed this quarter. I didn't even have time to plan out a Valentines Day thing. I had to drop my sister an email and ask her to find someplace for me to take my girlfriend to dinner and make reservations there.

I don't even get to increase my sleep much either. I get one full nights sleep tonight and then I need to start studying for my 2 midterms next week on tuesday and wednesday. Then the wek after that I have a biology exam. Then the week after that I have more compilers and more AI.

Anybody got a smiley face of a smiley shooting himself?

I recommend electrical shocks every time you think about sleeping. Eventually you will be afraid of sleeping and thus no longer require it. Well, you may still require it, but you won't be doing it.

Well I think I know what hell is now. You gota pick an easier major like Psych. Got a doctorate without having to pull an all nighter or go on less than seven hours of sleep a night. I couldn't handle that. Gota get my sleep.

Wow.
I was sad because I had to hand-write programs for 3.5 hours for my C exam. But I still got to sleep...

I finally got to sleep last night. Went to sleep at about 10pm and woke up at 10am when someone rang my doorbell. So now I feel a bit better.

Unfortunately, what I thought was an 8pm Sunday deadline to make a couple of corrections and submit my code turns out to be an 8am deadline. And, of course, today is Valentines day. I'm leaving in about 30 mins to go to my gfs house and will not get back till after 8am tomorrow. So now I get to sit on AIM all day communicating with my roommate (and partner for the assignment) trying to see what we can fix before the turnin time.

A) Scientologist policy of "fair game" = anyone who is not a scientologist can be killed by a scientologist for pretty much any reason.
B) Scientology = improperly done psychology.
If Psychology works, Scientology is made useless. Hubbard realised this, and made it a point to have Scientologist's be anti-psychology.

Therefore, don't hang around any sceintologists :P

I am aware of much of the scientologists beliefs. They are mainly against psychiatry and the prescribing of medications to cure mental illness. I am currently getting a post doctoral masters in psychopharmacology. There really isn't any good research to back up the idea that people have neurochemical brain dysfunction and need medications so I partly agree with them.

Most of Hubbards stuff sounds like a popularized psychology based on the writing of Carl Jung.

True.
Except he claimed he thought it up himself, and is thus was the prophet of this religion. And the rest of it is whacked.
On top of that, he had to dissociate what he was saying from his sources so that people would pay HIM money, and not anyone else.

Especially when x = 100.
Like when you live in a Scientologist complex and work for no pay, except your room and board.
