I have seen that mouse is trying a new device on the server, the cloaked sniper. It is fun to do for the first time, but a little on the unfair side for other players. Not to mention everyone who hasn't played the mouse mod in awhile thinks it is a hack and just complain about it the whole game. Snipers have an advantage to begin with by hitting from far away. Now with the cloak pack they do it invisible and can hit you not from just far away but standing a few feet from you, yes I have experinced it first hand. If mouse is going to keep this feature I would like to make a request that there be a counter measure. I don't know if it could be done, but if you could make the snesor on the base a sensor jammer so we could see cloakers. Due to the new patch you can't even see a cloaker now, ala predator stlye, they are completely invisible. Which makes it hard to spot a vpad or invo sniper and not to mention everyone who figures out how to cloak snipe plays that role through the whole game. I played one game where the other team had about 7-10 cloaked snipers, it was like trying to kill that mosquito that you hear but can't see. This is just an opinion and not meant to be a whiny post. Just for something for people to talk about here in the forums instead of in the game all the frickin time.

Me, Zues and Sapere where cloak Sniping on Gelatinus Prime last night. I was bored and found Zues doing the saen Sapere cam and joined us. We were sniping then Scar BattleSong ( CPA player from about a year ago) said it was a hack and had a .rec of it and was going to send it to mouse. I agree with you Human, There should be a more effective counter-Measure to it.
Reason 1. -Scar BattleSong wized right by all 3 of us looking for us. Zues got him while he flew away.
2. We were sniping almost the whole level which was capped out after 30 mins.
3. I stepped right in front of a person and sniped him in the face. He said "WTF was that".

I've been doing some minor tuning with the cloak pack, which might make it better. Basically, if you decloak, you have to wait for it to charge above a minimum level before you can cloak again. This means that cloakers will have to manage their energy level very well or risk being exposed, and snipers will decloak for a good period before they can cloak again.

Unless I was just Lagging I noticed that you had done that already before last nights Gelatinus Prime... Because we would have to hide behind the hill we were sniping on after we fired... But I'm good at Light Energy Mangagement.

cant stand the cloaked sniper most just stand on one hill and try and snipe medium sheilds and u cant snipe them back anymore because they show no signiture anymore they will snipe turn cloak back on then move a little to avoid the disc and do it again and u boost out there and they are already gone havent had one kill me yet just be really really really annoying on one map there was 5 of them all around our base trying to snipe people rarely getting anyone but just being a general nusance and im yet to see a cloak snipe with any brains die by anything less than a well placed morter

Wow...I just tried cloaking without the sniper rifle on a mission cause i didn't want to bring a rifle with me....I used all my energy and now you have to have atleast HALF of your energy back... thats a pretty big tweek.

maby we should think about makeing the sheilds stronger LOL jk they seemed fine before classic but seem a little weak latley but its probaly just me OR!!! i just rememberd the classic weapons are tweaked with higher damage so that combined with already tweaked mouse mod weapons make for super weapons hence me thinking my sheild is weaker when its the guns that are stronger HAHA me smrt lol (yes thats smart with no a for u dence people)

Actually, the tweaked weapons aren't additive. Mousemod tweaks are actually stronger than the Classic tweaks anyway, so it's mousemod standard strength.

Ie, plasma gun up from .45 to .65 (mousemod). I think classic boosted them by allowing a slightly faster fire rate.

I have to say that I find the cloaked sniper mildly entertaining to do when I'm bored. It's really funny to be hiding indoors right next to the inventory station taking out anybody that walks in to change armor, BUT...

It's just too much for mousemod. Cloakers already get to cloak indefinately. Snipers can already kill a shielded light and unshielded medium in one shot. Mixing the two is just too much power and way too much of an annoyance in game. There's enough vpad sniping noobs on cpa without them being invisible.

The new patch doesn't help either. Now cloakers are completely invisible which makes it just about impossible to track them even with nice headphones or a 5.1 speaker setup.

What I would really like to see is everything back as it was before the new patch. Cloakers look all blurry-like, energy restrictions are taken off, and snipers must be seen to do sniping. Really, what we need most is the blurry cloakers though. Perhaps cloak snipers won't be as annoying if they can be seen by the trained eye.

mostly i want the sachels... i'm already a sachel monger, now it's rediculose. im waiting to get a sachel headshot. i know if i place it just right....

Roommate suggested this one... sachel that sticks to people. it attaches to your pack. when pack is activated, or deactivated (depending on if it was on or off when the sachel gets attached) BOOM. toss your pack to get rid of it. also useful on teammates. -suicide bomber- i think for energy packs it should go off when pack hits 5% or less, AND 95% or more.

man, typing this up....it sounds sooo cool. id be like..Lister!! sachel me!!! *runrunrunrunrunrun* *enter nme base* *turn off jammer* *BOOOMMMM* good bye nme clamp turrets.

Yeah, some of those mods went way overboard on the packs and weapons. Some had literally dozens of armors. The problem is, it's hard to balance the defense against things like the tactical nuke, det pack, and hyper cannons.

i personally love the disc jump and is the blaster modded yet..i want to see if its gonna ruin the sheilder duels..im predicting hoards of blaster carriers....chaseing me!
and pleeeeeeease keep the disc jump that freakin thing gets me out of alot of jams these days when i have no boosts

Yes... the Cloaked Sniper is history... and the blaster is juiced up to .30 damage up from .15
